Our extra-curricular highlights
Debating and public speaking
Students can develop their thinking, communication and teamwork skills through debating and public speaking. They also have the chance to compete in local and state events.
Creative and performing arts
Our drama, music and art programs help students be creative and express themselves. They can perform at concerts and exhibit at art shows.
Trips and excursions
Excursions offer our students wonderful opportunities to explore, build lasting memories and embrace new challenges. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the real world.
School Sport
Our students have access to diverse sporting opportunities, with teachers offering coaching during play breaks. Inclusive school carnivals promote participation and effort, while students can represent the school in teams and compete at zone and regional levels in their selected sports.
Lunchtime and Interest Based Clubs
One of the interest based clubs at Heaton PS is the Chess Club. Students compete, encourage and support one another in a positive way, whilst learning new skills.
School Leadership Opportunities
Our School Parliament gives students a voice in shaping school life and builds their leadership skills. We meet regularly to share ideas, raise concerns, and suggest improvements. Students learn the value of teamwork, responsibility, and active citizenship.
